From adult beginners (not being able to put your face in the water) swimming lessons to swimming classes for those who want technical advice or a fitness programme − we're sure we have a class just for you!
If you're an adult beginner looking for swimming classes for adults, it's important to choose a swimming school that meets all your needs. At Fulton Swim School, we understand the importance of learning to swim and strive to provide a top-quality education for all our students.
Year-round availability is a key factor when considering a swim school. Swimming is a life skill that needs regular practice to maintain and improve. At Fulton Swim School, our program runs throughout the year, including school holidays, allowing you to book in at any stage and pull out at any stage, giving you the flexibility you need in today's busy world. By running adult swimming lessons throughout the year, we can ensure that our students progress regularly and consistently.
Facilities are also important when selecting a swim school. All our pools are heated to a consistent 32 degrees, ensuring that swimmers of all ages, children and adults alike, are always warm and comfortable.
Class sizes are another important consideration. At Fulton Swim School, we keep our class sizes small, with an optimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 students per teacher. This is below industry standards and allows our teachers to focus on their students and ensure rapid progression. Our focus is on making adult swimming lessons an enjoyable experience for all our students, regardless of their level.
In conclusion, choosing the right swim school is essential for any adult beginner looking to learn to swim. At Fulton Swim School, we offer a tailored and structured adult swimming program to ensure that you progress regularly and consistently. Our facilities, small class sizes, and focus on teacher-student relationships make us the ideal choice for anyone who’s looking for swimming lessons for adult beginners.
There are several things you can do to feel more comfortable and confident in the water. First and foremost, spend some time in the shallow end of the pool practising floating, kicking, and submerging your head. Practice holding your breath and blowing bubbles to get used to the sensation of being in the water. Getting comfortable in the water before your first adult swimming lesson can help you feel more confident and prepared.
Choosing appropriate swimwear can also make a big difference in your comfort and performance in the water. Wear a swimsuit or trunks that are specifically designed for swimming and that allow for ease of movement in the water. Avoid baggy clothing or cotton, which can weigh you down and make it more difficult to swim.
Depending on the class, you may need to bring equipment such as goggles, a swim cap, or a kickboard. Check with your instructor or the school beforehand to see what you need to bring to your first lesson. Having the right equipment can help you feel more comfortable and confident in the water.
It's important to set realistic expectations for yourself when signing up for swimming classes for adults. Remember that learning to swim takes time and practice, and progress may be slow at first. Celebrate small victories along the way and focus on the progress you're making, rather than comparing yourself to others. With time and practice, you'll be able to achieve your swimming goals and enjoy the many benefits that swimming has to offer.
